Abstract

Osteoporosis is a commonly disease happened in elderly people, there isn't an effective method in osteoporosis prevention and therapy so far. Calcitonin is a polypeptide hormone which modulate Ca+ metabolism, thus has some effect on osteoporosis therapy. The mechanism, method, efficacy and clinical potential of calcitonin in osteoporosis therapy were discussed here.
