Abstract

The evolutionary history of species is traditionally represented with a rooted phylogenetic tree, but when the evolution of species involves significant amounts of reticulate events( e. g.,hybridization, recombination and horizontal gene transfer),the evolutionary history of the species has been described as the system is no longer suitable for tree. Phylogenetic networks are a generalization of phylogenetic trees, which is used to describe the evolutionary history of the species, and can describe the reticulate evolutionary events species. And the system network can also be visualized conflict data sets, such as obtained by different genes of the species tree. Therefore, research on phylogenetic networks is an important field of biological information. This paper introduces the system network concept, development, research present situation, summarizes the existing system network construction algorithm.
