Abstract
Muskmelon downy mildew is a threat to the growth of middle and late maturing muskmelon crop in Kashi,Xinjiang. If no control measures were adopted in the field, this disease would cause severe damage for this crop and even a serious shortfall occurred in the yield .Experiments were carried out to control this disease with 7 different fungicides in serotinal muskmelon field. Results showed that 72% Cymoxanil WP,72.2% Propamocarb hydrochloride SL,80% Mancozeb WP and 72% Shuangyibike WP gave very effective control with percentages of diseased leaf and disease index were reduced by over 65% and over 90%,respectively,if the medicaments were sprayed upon the diseased plant once a week at the beginning of the symptoms of downy mildew.
