Abstract

A K-ratio and H-point standard addition method (HPSAM) for the simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of Zinc and Cadmium is proposed. The method is based on the difference of absorption spectra of Zinc and Cadmium forming color complexes with 4- 2-pyri- dylazo) -resorcinol (PAR) in basic medium. After the standard addition, the absorbance of samples was measured: of wavelengths are 532nm and 495nm for Cadmium, 530nm and 484nm for Zinc. The data were retreated by the K-ratio and HPSAM. The results were satisfactory.
