Abstract

Objective Penile verrucous carcinoma is a rare disease, the experience in diagnosis and treatment of the disease was presented in this paper. Methods The clinical and pathological data of 10 patients with penile verrucous carcinoma were analyzed with literature review. Results: All the tumors showed exophytic papillary lesions, ranged from 0.4 to 4 cm in diameter. All ten patients received partial penectomy and the surgical margins were negative. None of 10 patients received ilioinguinal lymphadenectomy. All cases were regularly followed up from 0.7 to 9 years, without have recurrence, only one patient died from other reseaon. Conclusion Verrucous carcinoma of the penis is a well differential disease with low malignant potential and locally aggressive nature. Misdiagnosis may occur due to incorrect biopsy. Favorable outcomes can be achived by surgery without any adjuvant therapy, but patients should be carefully followed up.
