Abstract

The debris flow in Yingtao gully is a typical gully debris flow, which is located in Beichuan County, 5. 12 Earthquake epicenter, Sichuan Province. Based on the basic features of the valley, the characteristics of the debris flow and forming conditions like topography, water source and sediment sources, are firstly analyzed. Then according to the dynamic parameters, the bulk density, flow rate, flow capacity and sediment flush-out, are calculated. It is suggested that the fluid dense of debris flow is 1.686 t/m3,flow rate is 6.45 m/s, whole impact force is 35.56 kPa, maximum surge wave height is 0.72 m, debris flow climb-up is 1.15 m, super elevation in bend is 0.41 m. The results can offer theory basis for setting debris flow control structure reasonably.
