Abstract
A great difference between the actual bearing capacity of foundation and the calculated bearing capacity of foundation in the original survey report is found after foundation excavation of a high-rise building in karst area, the foundation cannot meet the design requirement. After comprehensive consideration of site foundation conditions and construction technologies, the foundation treatment method with root piles is employed in design, which is proved to be feasible and successful in practice
