Abstract

Key of Merleau - Ponty' s theory of intersubjectivity is the interpretation of others' theory of existence, which is closely related to his own phenomenology and his understanding of the essence. His phenomenology is rich in profound materialism and dialectics on which he establishes the importance of the theory of intersubjectivity and criticizes various subjective philosophies. However, he doesn' t carry out a deep or detailed study of subjectivity or intersubjectivity but keeps the general conclusions in principle, which results from his lack of detailed analysis of man' s social practice and life.
