Abstract

Based on the results of a Plackett-Burman design, the most important factors affecting bacteria growth of Bacillus Subtilis were further investigated with the response surface methodology. The results showed that beef extract 7.3 g/L,peptone 7.1 g/L,temperature 33.5 ℃,pH 6.1,bacteria growth mass reached the maximum.Contour plots of two-factor interaction were studied and some conclusions were obtained as follows: beef extract 5.7~8.0 g/L,peptone 5.2~8.0 g/L,temperature 33~35 ℃,pH 5.4~6.8 were best for more biomass growth.
