Abstract

Objective: To study the diagnostic value of procalcitonin(PCT),high sensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),WBC in patients with lung bacterial infection. Methods: A sample of 221 patients with lung bacterial infection was divided into four groups, including bacterial infection(73 patients),virus infection(47 patients),mycoplasma infection(45 patients),fungus infection(56 patients) according to the results of pathogen and serum. And 62 healthy volunteers was selected as negative control.PCT,hs-CRP,WBC,neutrophil(Neu) were measured respectively and the results were statistically analyzed. The receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve was used to evaluate the value of PCT,hs-CRP,WBC and Neu.Results: The area under the ROC curve(AUC) of PCT,hs-CRP,WBC,Neu were 0.979,0.789,0.691,0.631 respectively. Conclusions: PCT,hs-CRP,WBC and Neu had some value to diagnosis lung bacterial infection. But PCT is a better marker whether there is bacterial infection. The level of PCT can evaluate the severity of bacterial infection.
