Investigation of antibiotic treatment of acute respiratory tract infection

Objective:To investigate the administration of antibiotics in the way of intravenous injection to patients with acute respiratory tract infection and get the status quo of antibiotic administration in our hospital.Methods:584 cases of children respiratory tract infection,including acute upper respiratory tract infection,bronchitis and pneumonia were picked up at random.The antibiotic treatments were grouped into penicillin,cephalosporin and macrolide.Results:Single antibiotics was used in most cases in children with acute upper respiratory tract infection and bronchitis,while in most cases of pneumonia children combined treatments with two kinds of antibiotics were used.The more serious respiratory tract infections were,the less single antibiotics were used,and the higher grade of antibiotics or the more combined administration was applied.Conclusions:Antibiotics treatments in our hospital have been becoming more regularized and standardized under the relative rules.
