Abstract
Bone matrix proteins (BMPs) are the noncollagenous proteins (NCPs) which are believed to play a crucial role in mineral nucleation and hyodroxyapatite growth during dentin mineralization and bone restoration. Advances in the study on the expression of five BMPs [dentin phosphoprotein(DPP), dentin sialoprotein(DSP),dentin sialophosphoprotein(DSPP),bone sialoprotein(BSP),and osteopentin(OPN) ]and their role in dentin mineralization , bone restoration in tissue engineering were reviewed.
