Suspension of upper blephara to superorbital periosteum for aging hollow upper eyelid

Objective To study the operative methods of treating aging hollow upper eyelids. Methods The incision was made at the fold of the upper eyelid and superior margin of the eyebrow.A W-shaped suture suspension was made from the tarsal to the periosteum of the superior orbital edge through the tunnel just beneath the orbicularis oculi. Results 241 cases were operated on with the technique. All the patients recovered uneventfully. The hollow upper eyelid was corrected satisfactory in the patients. Conclusion The aging upper eyelid hollow could be corrected satisfactory by the technique of W-shaped suspension from the tarsal to the periosteum of the superior orbital edge.
