Abstract
Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Jiaweitongxie prescription in the treatment of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Methods:80 cases of IBS according to the Rome II criteria were randomly divided into the treatment group and the contrast group. The treatment group was treated by Jiaweitongxie prescription. The contrast group was treated by Shute, with peifeikang to adjust the germ in bowel. Results:The total effective ratio of the treatment group and the contrast group was 90% and 70% respectively. The treatment group was better than the contrast group in improvement of abdominal pain and stool. The ratio of side-effect of the treatment group was also lower than that of the contrast group. Conclusion:Jiaweitongxie prescription has a better effect in treating IBS than western medicine only.
