Abstract

Objective:To explore the effects of pre-pregnancy body mass index and body weight gain during pregnancy on pregnancy outcome. Methods:100 pregnant women(body mass index24) who established cards and deliveried in the hospital from January 2004 to March 2008 were selected,then 300 pregnant women with normal body mass index who deliveried in the hospital at the same time were selected randomly,their pregnancy outcomes were followed up. Results:The incidences of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM),hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy(HDCP) and macrosomia in overweight group were 12.00%,14.00% and 10.00%,respectively,which were significantly higher than those in standard weight group(4.00%,4.33% and 5.66%,respectively)(P0.01).In overweight group,the body weight gain during pregnancy in GDM group was significantly lower than that in non-GDM group;the incidences of HDCP and macrosomia and the rate of cesarean section in the pregnant women with body weight gain during pregnancy≥15 kg were significantly higher than those in the pregnant women with body weight gain during pregnancy15 kg(P0.01). Conclusion:The pregnant women with standard pre-pregnancy body weight,body weight gain during pregnancy15 kg and normal body weight when they have GDM have good pregnancy outcomes.
