Abstract
Objective To evaluate the change of serum concentration of 3 tumor markers (CEA,NSE,and CyFRA 21 1 ) in different histological types and different stages of lung carcinoma. Methods One hundred and thirty two patients with lung carcinomas confirmed by surgical, biopsy, and endoscopy,20 patients with lung benign lesions and 20 normal controls were underwent spiral CT scanning. The patients with lung carcinoma were staged with TNM staging and classification criterion(1997).These three tumor markers in serum were determined in all cases.CEA and NSE were detected by radioimmunization, and CyFRA. 21 1 was detected by chemiluminescence immunization. All data were analyzed with SAS 8.2 statistics software.Results:CEA(48.43 ng/ml)was significantly increased in lung adenocarcinoma and NSE (37.68ng/ml) was significantly increased in small cell lung carcinoma(SCLC),and CyFRA 21 1 (18.28ng/ml)was significantly increased in lung squamous carcinoma( P 0.05).Followed disease development, the levels of these tumor markers were increased in various histological types ( P 0.05),while the levels of these tumor markers were no significance in stage Ⅰ lung carcinoma, lung benign lesions and normal controls ( P 0.05).The results did not show any diagnosis significant among them in stage Ⅰ lung carcinoma. Conclusion Combined detection of the three tumor markers in serum would be useful in improving diagnosis positivity in ⅡⅢⅣ stages and in predicting of pathologic types in lung carcinomas.
