Abstract
First,the paper discusses key thoughts and main ideas of modernism、postmodernism and new urbanism in the field of urban planning, then in combination with the characteristics of Chinese urban planning,discusses the enlightenment of new urbanism to Chinese urban planning, from many aspects of urban planning, finally discourses the practice and prospect of new urbanism in the appliance of China.
