Abstract

The scattering optical characteristics of aerosol over Lanzhou in winter are analyzed, using the data monitored by Integrating Nephelometer and Multi-wavelength Sun-photometer. The hemispheric backscatter fraction(b), asymmetry parameter(g) of aerosol(550 nm), the aerosol single scattering albedo (ω0) and the Angstrom exponent are derived from the scattering coefficients. These will provide basic information for the improvement of aerosol model and the investigation into the effects of aerosol radiation on climate. An algorithm is developed for inverting the volume distribution of aerosol particles by using the histogram and Monter-Carlo technique, and the test results show that the inversion is reasonable.
