Abstract

Objective To explore the prediction and diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) with the pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A(PAPP-A). Methods It was measured circulating levels of PAPP-A,TC, TG, LDL-C HDL-C, LDH,CK,CKMB in 21 patient with acute myocardial infarction(AMI), 21 patients with unstable angina(UA),21 patients with stable angina(SA) and 21 controls without atherosclerosis. In addition, these 84 people had undergone coronary arteriography. Results the PAPP-A in patients with acute coronary syndromes was significantly higher than that in patients with stable angina, in controls (P0.05) and the PAPP-A was not correlating with age, numbers of coronary vessel disease,TC,TG,LDL-C ,HDL-C,LDH,CK, CKMMB.In comparisons with coronary arteriography(CAG),PAPP-A identified patients who had ACS with a sensitivity of 80.0% and a specificity of 88.1% .Youden index 68.1% Conclusion PAPP-A may be a newly sensitive marker for indentifying patients with ACS.
