Abstract
Using field sampling and indoor analysis, the effects of different wetland use patterns(saline-alkali wasteland, humid grasslands, marsh wetland, forest wetland) on soil nutrient(soil organic matter, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, soil microbial mass) and soil enzyme activities(soil urease, soil catalase, soil invertase, soil alkaline phosphatase) in old Yellow River wetland of eastern Henan were studied. The results showed that soil nutrient and soil enzyme activities had significant difference among different wetland use patterns.Soil nutrient and soil enzyme activities were the highest in the forest wetland, humid grassland and marsh wetland took the second place and saline-alkali wasteland was the lowest.Soil enzyme activities were significantly correlated with soil organic matter, soil microbial mass and soil nutrient, and between soil enzyme activities themselves.Soil enzyme activities varied in the same order as that of soil nutrient. It is indicated that soil enzyme activities could reflect the level of wetland soil fertility, and could be used as an index indicating the soil fertility quality of wetland in old Yellow River.
