Abstract

Based on a diffusion-relaxation model, the influence of particle size and solution concentration on super-absorbent polymer(SAP) swelling kinetics is studied in this paper. The diffusion of water molecule and the relaxation of the chains of the polymer both contribute to the SAP swelling, but the SAP size and the solution concentration play more important roles.
