Abstract
The kinetic curves of cell growth, glycerol consumption and 1,3-propanediol formation for encapsulated Klebsiella pneumoniae ZJU 5205 by NaCS/PDMDAAC capsule system were investigated under the pH regulation by CaCO3,KOH solution or without pH control. And simultaneously the variation of pH in medium was measured. The results show that the maximum biomass and 1,3-propanediol could be obtained by pH control with KOH solution.Hence it's very important to control the pH for fermentation of immobilized Klebsiella pneumoniae.
