Remote meter reading system based on GPRS

Automatic meter reading technology is a new technology,which used the automatic data acquisition,transmission and processing to water,electricity,gas supply and management system,it fundamentally overcome the traditional disadvantages of manual meter reading mode.As the wireless communication technology developing,it is a very new idea that introduced the general packet radio service(GPRS) to automatic meter reading system,which will be the focus and direction of development.Against the application of GPRS for wireless data transmission,and with the base of current automatic meter reading,this paper proposes a scheme by remote automatic meter reading which is based on GPRS.
