Abstract
It is most important for ship and propeller designers to have a good understanding of the interaction between the hull and the propeller. In this paper,CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) method was used to predict flow fields around ship with propeller.Using a Mixing Plane Method, the real propeller geometry is considered in the computation. The calculated KT and KQ are in good agreement with test results. The predicted wake behind propeller also shows favorable agreement with measured one.The method developed in this paper will be a practical tool for studying propeller/hull interaction.
