Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of CXCR4 and matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2) in human rectal tumors and to analyze the clinical significance. Methods Expression of CXCR4 and MMP-2 in 50 cases with rectal tumor were examined by immunohistochemistry method. Then to evaluate the relationship between CXCR4 and MMP-2 expression with clinical and pathological data in human rectal tumors. Results The positive expression of CXCR4 and MMP-2 in rectal cancer tissues were higher than those in normal rectal tissues(P0.01).The positive expression of CXCR4 and MMP-2 were positively correlated with Dukes stage, tumor's differentiation and lymph node metastasis. Conclusion CXCR4 and MMP-2 maybe relate with the infiltration and metastasis of rectalcarcinoma.
