Abstract

Objective To study the carotid artery intima-media thickness and hemodynamics changes in aged patients with tape 2 diabetes by color Doppler ultrasound. Methods The bilateral carotid artery of 111 aged patients with diabetes were examined, then the results were compared with 97 normal controls. Results The average IMT(intima-media thickness) of diabetes group was higher than that of control group(P0.05,the PSV and EDV of diabetes group were lower than that of control group(P0.05).There were no significant difference in the RI and PI between two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Colour Doppler ultrasound can directly reflect the carotid artery IMT and hermodynamics changes,it has important meaning in preventing and treating complication of diabetes.
