Abstract

A method of calculating the Mach stem height in unsteady Mach reflection, especially in the case of the shock wave reflection by a cylindrical convex surface,is developed.Based on the idea of calculating the Mach stem height in pseudo-steady Mach reflection, the locus of the triple point is obtained by integrating a suitable vector field.Consequently, the Mach stem height can be obtained easily at any time. The numerical results coincide with the corresponding experimental data.
