An Investigation of the Resources of Wild Medicinal Plants in Yibin

Yibin lies in the southern margin of the Sichuan Basin,where the Jinshajiang River and the Minjiang River converge to become the Yangtze River.For its low and mild hilly and mountainous terrain,rainy climate and moist air,this region is rich in plant resources,and is celebrated as the plant treasure-house.Based on textual research,field survey and interview carried in recent years,we recorded more than 600 species of wild medicinal plants in Yibin.This paper presents a brief introduction of the medicinal functions of some species and their growth habits and geographical distribution,and offers some suggestions about their development,utilization and protection.
