Spatial Variability of Soil Salt Based on Geostatistics and GIS in the Oasis of the Lower Reaches of Kaidu River:A Case Study on Yanqi County

Abstract

In order to study the problem of soil salinity in the oases of arid regions,traditional statistics and geostatistics combined with the geographical information system technology were applied to investigate the spatial variability and spatial distribution of soil salt content in Yanqi County of the oasis in the lower reaches of Kaidu River Basin.The results showed that semivariograms of soil salinity in 0~10cm,10~20cm and 20~30cm layers fitted the Gaussian model.The range of soil salinity was increasing with the increase of soil depth.The C0 +Cin three soil layers was 50%,between 25%and 75%,and was moderate spatial variability.Analysis of spatial pattern of soil salinity on horizontal direction indicated that high values of soil salinity were mainly distributed on the middle and the lower-lying area.On the vertical direction,the salinity of soil in 0~10cm layer was highest,and it decreased gradually with the increase of soil depth.
