Abstract

Objective To analyze the ultrasonic manifestations of intravenous leiomyomatosis(IVL).Methods Clinic data and ultrasound images of 4 IVL patients were retrospectively analyzed. All the patients were diagnosed by ultrasound and confirmed by pathology. Results Three of 4 patients underwent previously hysterectomy because of hysteromyoma. In these 3 patients,IVL extended into iliac vein, while even reached inferior vena in 2 patients. The tumor invaded into the right side of heart through iliac vein and inferior vena cava in 2 patients,After 6 months, pelvic hypoechoic nodules were detected with ultrasound in 2 patients. Conclusion Combining with clinical history and well knowing ultrasonic features of IVL is helpful for pre-operation diagnosis.Ultrasound is the first imaging modality for follow-up of IVL.
