Opinions on National Identity and Ethnic Identity in the New Times

In promoting globalization and modernization,enhancing national identity and ethnic identity,and building a positive ethnic identity can promote national unity and harmonious ethnic relations. Efforts should be made to accelerate economic and social development in ethnic regions,reduce gaps among ethnic groups,push forward transformation of social structure of ethnic minorities,and build up a fair,rational and open social structure to facilitate social integration and identification of all ethnic groups. Higher education can accelerate the harmonious coexistence of national identity and ethnic identity and we should respect and protect culture of ethnic minorities to preserve unity and vitality of the Chinese Nation.
