Abstract
Objective To obse rve association between the degree of myopia and non-contact intraocular pressure ( IOP).Methods Four hundred and five of 405 myopia patients aged 18 to 40 years old (mean 23.28±7.76) were selected. The CCT of them is in 450~550 μm. Non-contact IOP and degree of myopia were examined. They were divided into three groups by their sphe rica lequivalent(SE):low myopia groups (LM )(-3.00 DSE≤-0.5D,n=65),meta myopia groups(MM)(-6.00 DSE≤-3.00 D,n=163) and high myopia groups (HM) (SE≤-6.00 D,n=73).Differences of IOP of the three groups were compared by analysis of variance ,the correla tion between degree of myopia and non-contact IOP by rectilinear correlation, and the correlation between degree of myopia and CCT.Results IOP of LM (15.92±3.27) is lower than that of MM (16.55±3.01,P=0.000) and HM (17.54±3.20,P=000),and there were statistical differences. A positive correlation was seen between degree of myopia and non-contact IOP,but there were no correlation between degree of myopia and CCT.Conclusion If the IOP is checked by non-contact tonometer, the high myopia patients seems to be easier to suffer f rom ocular hyper-tension than LM and MM. A positive correlation was seen between degree of myopia and non-contact IOP. The result suggest that the intraocular pressure, visiual field and OCT is important to the ocular hypertension of myopia.
