Abstract
Reinforced concrete waffle slabs are being used increasingly in recent years in China because of their economic and architectural benefits. But collapse models and calculation method of limit load of the slabs have not been studied sufficiently. A reinforced concrete waffle slab of 5.46m×10.92m size, supported by corner columns of panels, has been tested by the authors under short-term uniformly distributed loads to acquire its failure pattern. A mechanism of failure and calculation method of limit load of the waffle slab structure supported by corner columns of panels is proposed in this paper.
