Abstract

This paper describes the vertical zonation of primary halos in the Guoluolongwa gold deposit of Qinghai Province through systematical sampling and analysis using the C·B·Gregorian's zoning index method. The vertical element zonation of the deposit from shallow to depth is in the sequence of Au-Pb-As-Ag-W-Co-Cu-Bi-Hg-Sb-Zn-Sn-Ni-Mo.The elements of Au,Pb and Ag are concentrated in the top of the deposit, and the elements Sn,Ni and Mo as the tail indicator elements are rich in the bottom, representing the normal element zonation of the main metallogenic age,and the distribution space for head halo elements of the main metallogenic age has been eroded. As,Hg and Sb as head halo elements,Cu and Zn as ore halo indicator elements in theory, were intercalated in the space for ore halo and tail halo of the ore deposit, reflecting two ages of superimposed mineralization. The future prospecting of the deposit should consider this superimposed mineralization enrichment zone as targets.
