Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of T cells CD4+CD25+in the peripheral blood of patients with systemic lupus erythermatosus and to identify the relationship between the levels of CD4+CD25+T cells and the disease activity and progression of SLE.Methods Thirty SLE patients were enrolled in study.Flow-cytometric assay was used for detectin of CD4+CD25+T cells and CD4+CD25 bright T cells were defined according to fluorescence intentity of CD25 expression exceeding 100.Meanwhile,correlation analysis was performed between their expression and scores of SLE disease active index (SLEDAI).Results The levels of peripheral blood CD4+CD25+T cells in SLE were (8.82±2.98)%,which were significantly lower than those in the group of healthy control(12.24±5.71)%,P0.05.The levels of T cells CD4+CD25 bright in SLE were (1.56±0.76)%,which were lower than those in the group of healthy control (2.23±1.22)%,P0.05.No correlation was found between the levels of T cells CD4+CD25+and SLEDAI socores,and no correlation was found between the levels of T cells CD4+CD25 bright and SLEDAI socores.(r = -0.156,P=0.537;r = -0.153,P=0.544;P0.05).Conclusion The reduction of CD4+CD25 bright T cells in peripheral blood may participate in the pathogenesis of SLE.
