Abstract
The phase transformation temperatures is measured in DTA method, and the solidification process and the solidified microstructures of AZ31 magnesium alloy are analyzed through metallographic observation.According to DTA and the microstructure information,it is obtained that the phase transformation begins from 430.1℃,the solidus point of the alloy is 614.4℃,and the liquidus point is 636.4℃.The microstructure evolution and the phase transformation characters during solidification of AZ31 magnesium alloy were analyzed, and the accuracy of the phase transformation temperature is confirmed by observing the rapidly quenched microstructures of the samples obtained at different temperatures.
