Abstract
Tracking ballistic target is the most core problem in missile defense system. The ballistic model is the prerequisite of the simulation of ballistic missile trajectory and the research of ballistic object tracking. The paper addresses a mathematical model describing the motion of ballistic target which contains multiple-stage boosters. The total acceleration acting on the ballistic target has been decomposed into four terms:thrust, atmospheric drag, centrifugal force, and apparent forces.Further,a simulation flow of ballistic missile trajectory is described. From simulations,a flight trajectory of ballistic missile with three-stage boosters is obtained. The variations of the speed and acceleration of the ballistic target are analyzed. The effort has important significance for the research of tracking medium-range and long-range ballistic missiles.
