Abstract

Calculated API (air pollution indices) according to the daily average concentration data on SO_2, NO_2 and PM_(10) obtained from the automatic observation stations in Nanning, Guilin and Beihai concludes that the air quality in these three cities is generally classified as 'very good' in grade I or 'good' in grade II, meeting the requirements of the State Environmental Protection Bureau on air quality, and that in Guilin is the best. The correlation analysis of the relationship between monthly average concentration of various pollutants and the ground meteorological factors proves a close correlation, which is in positive relation with air pressure and negative with other factors such as air temperature, steam pressure, relative humidity, precipitation, wind velocity and ground temperature at 0cm elevation. Daily average concentration of various pollutants also has a close correlation with ground wind velocity.
