Effects of Heavy Metals Pb and Cr on Seed Germination and Biomass of Wheat

The effects of heavy metals Pb,Cr on wheat seed germination and biomass were discussed.The results showed that different con-centrations of heavy metal had different effects on seed germination and other indices measured.Lower concentration of heavy metal showedl ittle effect on wheat seed germination and growth,or some promoting functions.While higher concentration of heavy metals contaminationi nhibited the growth of wheat obviously,and the inhibition increased with the concentration raising.In a word,the toxicity of heavy metal Cr on wheat was stronger than Pb.
