Abstract
A sensitive polarographic adsorption catalytic wave of chromium-4-aminoanti- pyrine complex was found by single sweep polarography in the presence of sodium nitrite and buffer solution of ammonia-ammonium chloride(pH~9).The linear relationship occurs between the peak height and chromium concentration over the range of 6×10~(-9)~8×10~(-8)g/mL.The detection limit is 4×10~(-9)g/mL.The behaviour of the polarographic wave have been studied briefly. The optimal conditions for the determination of chromium have been discussed. This method can be used for the determination of trace amount of chromium in waste water and tea leaves. The standard deviation of this method is 0.15,coefficient of variation is 7.1%,percentage of recovery is 96%.
