Abstract
The rule of the new critical path,while the critical activity is crashed in CPM network,is discussed. Firstly,the paper proposes the Total Float Theorem and the Characteristic Path Theorem,on the basis of which the Substituting Critical Path Theorem is concluded.It shows that the new critical path,while a critical activity is discontinued, is surely the characteristic path passing through the activity which has minimum total float in all activities paralleling the discontinued critical activity.Finally,the paper presents a method and an example of finding the new critical path when critical activity is crashed.
