Abstract

Both English and Chinese are rich in idioms,which are endowed with cultural meaning.As a result,translators often have difficulties in translating them.The author suggests that translators take the issue seriously and follow the rule of cultural compatibility when translating idioms.The author also suggests applying assimilative method and dissimilative method to idiom translation.
