Abstract

In the compilation of History of the Former Han Dynasty,Ban Gu inherited and developed the method of the self-annotation in History of the former Han Dynasty with the form of self-annotation expounding the body part of his book for the full expression of his ideas.Focused on the different historical stories,memorial to the throne,and the self-annotations in the biographies,this paper attempts to make a rudimentary exploration on the content,form,and historic influence of History of the Former Han Dynasty.
