Abstract

The effects of different pollination techniques such as stigma pollination method,Stigma pollination+cut style pollination method and Stigma pollination+ graft style pollination method on overcoming lily's pre-fertilization cross barriers were investigated. The results showed as follows : of the tested intra-hybrid swarm, fruitset was 100% respectively by using stigma pollination method.of the tested inter-hybrid swarm, female pollen tubes were not able to enter ovary by using stigma pollination method;while some female pollen tubes were observed to enter ovary and few of them turned to the micropylars via using Stigma pollination+Cut style pollination method, fruits and few of seeds were gained in 3 combinations of Asian Lily(♀)×Oriental lily by using this pollination method;Within the 3 tested intra-section cross combinations of Asian Lily(♀)×Oriental lily, while using Stigma pollination+ graft style pollination method, few of pollen tubes might achieve directional growth to the micropylars and one hybrid seedling was acquired in vitro ovule-slice culture and ovule culture.
