Abstract

The preliminary observation on the attenuated A 66 strain of duck hepatitis virus(DHV) in a chicken embryo fibrobalst(CEF) culture system was reported. The virus titer assay, virus neutralization test in chicken embryo and electron microscopic examination of ultrathin section of the cell culture indicated that the A 66 strain of DHV could propagate in CEF. It was shown that the serum of new born calf apparently inhibited propagation of DHV. The growth curve of DHV in CEF culture was drawn according to the viral titer assay.
