Abstract
Objective:To study the relationship between hepatocyte apoptosis and expression of Fas and FasL in(alcohol-induced) liver injury in rats and their effects on the pathogenesis of alcoholic liver disease(ALD).Methods:The alcohol-induced liver injury model was established in rats. The TUNEL assay was used to examine the hepatocyte apoptosis index, and the Fas FasL expressions were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results: The apoptosis indexes in pathologic model group and control group were(2.03±1.61)% and(0.10±0.21)% respectively(P0.05).The cell numbers of the positive Fas and FasL expressions in pathologic model group and control group were 7.23±1.10 vs 0.58±0.17(P0.05) and 5.14±0.76 vs 0.31±0.25(P0.05),respectively.Conclusion: Chronic and excessive alcohol consumption may cause liver injury in rats, which may induce hepatocyte apoptosis. The hepatocyte apoptosis may be related with the up-regulation of the Fas FasL expressions.
