Abstract

The six degree-of-freedom equation is employed to simulate the flight dynamics problems of the aircraft caused by ice accretion.A method to calculate the icing severity and aircraft aerodynamic parameters within the icing process is developed. Then the icing process is simulated through modifying the aircraft aerodynamic parameters according to the icing severity at each time step and the flight characteristics affected by ice is analyzed based on it.The flight dynamics characteristics of the aircraft under different icing severity configurations are simulated and the analyses are performed based on the simulation results.
