Abstract

Based on the experiment results of fluorescence from low generation PAMAM dendrimer,it can be proposed that amine groups in PAMAM dendrimer play the critical role in emitting fluorescence, but not the crowding state of these amine groups. At different pH values, the speed of forming fluorescence centers and the fluorescence stability were observed to be different. The intensity of fluorescence would be obviously reduced after varying the pH value between 10 and 3 for several times.Because of its high biocompatibility and low price, low generation PAMAM dendrimer may find applications as a new kind of fluorescence indicator.
