The Value of Acupuncture at Three Points of Eyes for the Functional Recovery of Bell Palsy

Objective:To probe the role of acupuncture at three acupoints of eyes in the functional discovery of bell palsy.Methods:80 cases were randomly divided into the treatment group of 40 cases and the control group of 40 cases.The treatment group was treated by electroacupuncture at rountinely selected acupoints and rountinely oral medicine combined with acupuncture at three acupoints of eyes including Jingming,Shangming and the Chengqi.The control group was treated by acupuncture at rountinely selected acupoints and rountinely oral medicine.The intensity on 0.05 ms in the intensity/time(I/t) curve for frontal ventral fronto-occipital muscle and orbicular muscle of mouth at the affected side was used for assessment criteria of the course.Results:Routine electroacupuncture and oral medicine treatment combined with acupuncture at 3 acupoints of eyes could significantly increase clinical therapeutic effect on bell palsy,and the therapeutic cycle was shorted obviously.Conclusion:Acupuncture at 3 acupoints of eyes can significantly improve bell palsy and promote recovery of functions of facial nerves.
