Demonizing and Poeticizing——On the Pendulum Phenomena of Orientalism

In long history of devolopment of Orientalism, there are always two apparently different attitudes towards Orient: one is contempt and enmity,that is uglify and demonize Orient;the is appreciation and aspiration,that is beautify and poeticize Orient.Occidental linger between these two attitudes which has formed pendulum phenomena in area of Orientalism.Nevertheless,these two attitudes seemly oppose to each other,actually they both catabolize Orient as the other and do no good to help Orient as equal to Western to participate in internatioanal affairs.Therefore,we should change stereotype,emancipate Orient from disadvantageous ideology of Orientalism.
